Focus on healthy aging: Dr. Kai Prager at the LABMED FORUM 2025
The MEDICA LABMED FORUM 2025 will continue to provide a stage for the most important trends and innovations in laboratory medicine. One of the highlights is the closing session on Thursday, led by Dr. Kai Prager (DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH) and Dr. Peter Quick (VDGH Berlin). Under the title “Healthy Aging and Longevity,” the two experts will continue a discussion that already attracted a great level of attention in 2024.
This year, Dr. Prager and Dr. Quick will place particular emphasis on the role of cellular processes and epigenetic changes in aging: “This year, we will focus specifically on the question of how cellular processes and epigenetic changes influence our aging and what role stem cells play in this process.” This scientifically sound approach clearly distinguishes itself from superficial anti-aging promises, which are often more marketing than genuine medicine.
Particularly exciting are the prospects for innovative fields of research such as personalized diagnostics for neurodegenerative diseases and new therapies for the prevention of dementia. This makes “healthy aging” not just a trend, but a serious field of future medicine – with direct relevance for an increasingly aging society.
This year's MEDICA LABMED FORUM will once again impressively demonstrate how laboratory medicine acts as a bridge between research, clinics and patient care. This once again underlines its importance as an international platform for the exchange of knowledge and visions.
