Press Release on the Planned Construction of a New Production Facility in the Beselich-Obertiefenbach Industrial Area

DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH has been in contact with the municipality of Beselich for some time regarding a preliminary agreement to purchase a plot of approximately 2.5 hectares in the planned new industrial area “Auf dem Springerberg.” The site is intended for the construction of a production facility for water based products used in medical laboratory diagnostics.

The current production site of DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH in Holzheim, Verbandsgemeinde Diez, cannot meet the required production capacity due to technical limitations. The products planned for manufacture at the new location are new additions to the DiaSys portfolio—there will therefore be no relocation of existing production from Holzheim to Beselich. We are very grateful to the municipality of Beselich for the approval granted by all committees for a preliminary agreement that provides both parties with the security needed to use part of the expanded industrial area for this new facility.

A key requirement for the planned project is the availability of sufficient water resources, as current planning foresees the need for up to 100 cubic meters of water per production day. This water is treated and fully demineralized before being prepared with small amounts of added minerals and detergents for use in medical laboratories. Only small quantities of wastewater are generated (less than 10% of the input volume), with slightly elevated salt levels. These can be discharged into the municipal wastewater treatment system without any issues. The municipality is confident that these quantities can be provided without any restrictions to the region’s drinking water supply.

If all regulatory procedures progress smoothly, construction is expected to begin in 2027 and be completed in 2028. The investment volume cannot yet be specified precisely; however, it is expected to amount to a significant eight figure sum. Holzheim will remain the headquarters of DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH, including research and development, production, and related departments. Expansion projects are also planned in Holzheim and at the company’s other site in Flacht over the coming years. The new facility in Beselich will create 30 to 80 new jobs, without reducing staff in Holzheim or Flacht—on the contrary, both locations also plan to create new positions as part of their respective expansion projects.
