2021-10-21: Invitation to a DiaSys presentation at a EURAMET workshop on measurement challenges

Medical decisions depend on accurate, informative, and comparable results. This is only possible by establishing a common measurement base. As a result, global metrology institutions such as EURAMET focus on improving the aspect of comparability. Covering the broad range of diagnostic tests, therapeutics and novel techniques requires joint work between stakeholders and the measurement science community. By establishing comparability, metrology supports legal requirements on in vitro diagnostics. It is dedicated to translating emerging techniques into clinical and/or commercial use and thus supports IVD manufacturers in meeting the requirements of the EU 2017/746 (IVDR) regulations.

A EURAMET Workshop will take place on November 10, 2021. In the first part of the workshop, stakeholders will present their work with a view to (bio)chemical measurement challenges related to diagnostics, therapeutics and emerging techniques. In the second part, metrology institutes will present their ideas and potential contributions. Pandemics and SARS-CoV-2 are the topic of a separate workshop.

Thomas Masetto is immunoassay developer at DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH. He will give a speech on "Challenges in developing IVD tests for innovative biomarkers: What an IVD manufacturer needs for accurate measurements”. He will present some of the innovative clinical chemistry and immunoassay parameters recently developed by DiaSys and the hurdles encountered during the design phase and developing process.
