Phospholipids

Altered phospholipid concentrations or compositions in blood plasma are associated with liver disease, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obstructive jaundice, Tangier disease, hypobetalipoproteinemia or Lecithin-Cholesterol-Acetyltransferase deficiency.

Adults:1.61 – 3.55 mmol/L125 – 275 mg/dL
Newborns:0.90 – 2.19 mmol/L70 – 170 mg/dL
Infants:1.29 – 3.55 mmol/L100 – 275 mg/dL
Children:2.32 – 3.81 mmol/L180 – 295 mg/dL
Each laboratory should check if the reference ranges are transferable to its own patient population and determine own reference ranges if necessary. For diagnostic purposes, the results should always be assessed with the patient’s medical history, clinical examinations and other findings.
