 New – Mini cup adapter for respons®910
DiaSys is actually introducing a mini cup adapter for respons®910 (Cat. No. 960647). By means of this special adapter, the sample dead volume may decrease from 50 µL to 10 - 15 µL, which is useful for applications with a small specimen volume (e.g. in pediatrics, veterinary medicine, etc.).

 Superiority of DiaSys Lp-PLA2 confirmed by Chinese study
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) has become the most common cause of death in both developed and developing countries worldwide and represents a large economic burden. Although several biomarkers for predicting cardiovascular disease exist, CVD is far from being accurately diagnosed and assessed. Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) is a vascular inflammatory factor that has been demonstrated to be positively correlated with CVD and ischemic stroke.

 Statins increase Lp(a) value
According to several studies, elevated lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] levels are considered a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. A recent meta-analysis published in Lancet has shown that elevated Lp(a) levels in patients before and during statin therapy are associated with an increased cardiovascular risk; the association is also present when patients exhibit LDL-C levels below 50 mg/dL and/or are at medication for statins or PCSK9 inhibitors.

 European REACH regulation bans tritons and its derivates
REACH stands for “Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals“. It was issued in 2007 to further protect human health and the environment from all hazards arising from chemicals. To comply with REACH, all risks posed by chemicals manufactured and marketed in the EU must be identified and controlled. If such risks are not controlled, the authorities may restrict the use of chemicals.

The first Society for Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics in Ukraine was established within the existing Medical Society in 1861 in Kharkiv on the initiative of Professor Wilhelm F. Grube. Therefore, organizing events for the Kharkiv Society for Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics has a long history and is most important for this direction in Eastern Ukraine.
