- Myocardial infarction/injury
- Progressive muscular dystrophy
- Dermatomyositis
- Rhabdomyolysis due to drug ingestion, hyperosmolality, autoimmune disease etc.
- Delirium tremens
- Convulsions (status epilepticus)
- Crush syndrome
- Hypothyroidism
- Surgery, severe exercise, intra-muscular injection
Decreased in
- Physical inactivity
- Decreased muscle mass
