World Diabetes Day

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that over 212 million people are living with undiagnosed diabetes. The majority of undiagnosed people have type 2 diabetes, which often causes no symptoms in early stages.

The IDF created a type 2 diabetes risk assessment test that takes only a couple of minutes and is confidential: https://www.idf.org/type-2-diabetes-risk-assessment/ Individuals with high risk of developing type 2 diabetes within the next years are advised to get a blood test to determine whether they have diabetes without symptoms.

DiaSys offers a wide range of high quality assays for diagnosis, as well as diabetes monitoring and management. Besides reagents for clinical chemistry analyzers for small to large sized laboratories, DiaSys also offers POCT solutions for Diabetes management.

Glucose is the first choice parameter for identifying and managing diabetes. DiaSys offers various reagents with different methods to determine blood glucose levels. HbA1c is a further parameter that represents the average blood glucose level over the past 8 12 weeks and is therefore used for long-term glycemic control in diabetic individuals.

β-Hydroxybuytrate is a parameter used in patients with type 1 diabetes, to ensure early detection of diabetes ketoacidosis.
